IMPORTANT: The Bottlenose team are now long gone from Bristol and are living in Edinburgh. The Bristol reviews should now be regarded as being purely of historical interest and, to be fair to the many new restaurants which have appeared and to those which have improved, they are no longer hosted here.

• Venue (the local weekly listings magazine) publishes the Eating Out West guide, covering Bristol and Bath.
• The Evening Post's website used to have restaurant reviews in the Leisure section, but such things seem to have now moved to Crackerjack.
• There is a Bristol page in the ChefMoz open directory.
• What's on Bristol only seems to have basic listings now.
• There used to be something called Trencherman's Guide listing many of the best restaurants in the South West. Hardcopies could be found in those restaurants and in tourist information offices in the region. I don't know if it still exists; googling for it now turns up various inferior imitations and sites freeloading on the name.
