My name is Julie Odell, I'm 43 years old and have been living in Edinburgh since 2003. After years of working as a nurse I decided to have a total career change and to follow my heart. So in 2007 "Julie The Dog Walker" was born! It started small with just one dog - Skye, an adorable Cocker Spaniel - and has since grown into a thriving small business which I am thoroughly enjoying. Since I can remember I have always loved dogs. I am a keen walker too, so having the opportunity to put my two greatest passions into my work is wonderful and I am getting so much pleasure out of walking dogs everyday in Edinburgh's beautiful green spaces. I am a totally trustworthy, friendly, reliable, extremely professional and very caring person. You can be completely assured that your dog will be safe and very well cared with me and I will give them lots of love and attention as if your dog was my own. |
I'll collect dogs and visit cats in South Edinburgh, concentrating on the areas of Marchmont, Sciennes, Old Town, The Grange, Blackford, Tollcross, Bruntsfield, Morningside, Craiglockhart, Merchiston, Polwarth and Greenbank.
I will give your dog a lovely time, walking in and around Edinburgh. I never walk in parks or close to areas where there is any traffic but take full advantage of the stunning green spaces that South Edinburgh has to offer. Favourite places I most frequently walk dogs are Blackford Hill, The Hermitage, Blackford Glen and Colinton Dell, with occasional trips to Portobello and Gullane.
I collect by car, which has been fitted with dog guards, so you can be certain that your dog will be transported in safety. Dog walks last a full hour. That's actual walking time, not time spent picking up, transporting or dropping dogs home. Your dog will have opportunities for lots of fun on the walk, socialising, running and enjoying themselves with other dogs in the group. After the walk your dog will be delivered back home, happy, refreshed and exercised. I always towel down your dog and wipe their paws if they have got muddy or wet and I would check your dog's water bowl before I leave in case it needs to be topped up. I can give them any food or medication if required too. I also leave a little note saying where we've gone for a walk and how your dog was on the walk too. And of course I'll leave your home securely locked.
I only walk small groups of dogs (my insurance covers me to walk a maximum 6 dogs) and use biodegradable dog poo bags.
I'm fully insured with a specialist pet care insurance agency, have been police checked and have excellent references.

I am also offering a cat visiting/sitting service, so if you are away you can be assured your cat will be well cared for in their own home. I'll pop by your house when you are away to feed your cat, change litter trays, top up water bowls and of course spend time giving your cat plenty of cuddles! I recommend two visits a day for your cat.
I can also open/shut curtains, switch lights on/off, collect in post and water plants etc. And I can send you emails/texts to let you know how your cat is doing while you are away too.
£9 for a one hour dog walk.
From £14 for dog day care (pick up from your home between 10-11am, one or two walks each lasting one hour and dropped home by 3.30-4.30pm).
£6 for a cat-sitting visit.
